Site fixes for Family Ties and Knott's Landing

Every item below is ready to paste into WordPress. No developer needed for most of it. Titles, meta descriptions, structured data, headline rewrites, and the Knott's About rewrite, plus a short list of hands-on fixes.

Read this first

Verify these facts before anything goes live. A few values below came from third party directories, not the sites themselves, so confirm them with the owner first. A wrong address or license number in structured data is worse than none.
  • Family Ties street address. The site publishes no address. Directories list 6096 Sheridan Way, Buena Park, CA 90620, and one even shows Knott's address against it. Confirm the correct one before publishing.
  • Family Ties legal name. The site uses "Family Ties" and "Family Ties Care Home"; directories say "Family Ties Senior Living." Pick one and use it everywhere. This sheet uses Family Ties Senior Living, change it if the licensed name differs.
  • Knott's license number. Not shown on the site. Get the CA DSS number and drop it into the marked spot.
  • Knott's owner name and story for the About rewrite (see section 03c).
  • Map coordinates. For the schema, right click the pin in Google Maps and copy the latitude and longitude into the marked spots.
  • Family Ties email. The schema uses info@familytiesliving.com from the site. Confirm it is a monitored inbox before publishing.
Where each piece goes in WordPress.
  • Titles and meta descriptions: your SEO plugin (Yoast, Rank Math, or All in One SEO) has a "SEO title" and "Meta description" field on every page. Paste there. Do not add a second title in the content.
  • Structured data (the JSON script blocks): add to the page's <head>. Easiest path is your SEO plugin's schema or "code" feature, or a header scripts plugin. LocalBusiness goes on the homepage; the FAQ block goes on the FAQ page only.
  • Open Graph tags: most SEO plugins generate these automatically from the title and description. Only paste the template if yours does not.
  • Headlines and About copy: edit the page directly in the WordPress editor.

Family Ties

stronger of the two

a. Titles and meta descriptions

Keep titles near 60 characters. The pipe character separates the phrase from the brand.

b. Homepage headline

The current H1, "Assisted Living and Personalized Care in Buena Park," is already good. Keep it. Just make sure it is the only H1 on the page and that "Buena Park" appears in the first line of body text too.

c. LocalBusiness structured data (homepage head)

d. FAQ structured data (FAQ page head)

The answers below must also appear as visible text on the FAQ page, or Google can penalize the markup. Edit both to match.

Knott's Landing

needs content cleanup

a. Titles and meta descriptions

This also fixes the broken titles. Right now every page reads like Contact Us, knotts-landing with the raw slug leaking in. Replace each in the SEO plugin's title field.

b. Homepage headline

Replace the generic H1 "Helping Families Find the Right Care, Every Step of the Way" with something that names the service and the city. Keep the warm line as the subhead beneath it.

H1: Assisted Living and Board and Care in Buena Park
Sub: A small, family owned home where your loved one is known by name.

c. About page rewrite  important

The current About page carries copy from a different company. Delete every mention of "Happy Living Home Care," "Fais Ellahi" (unless he is in fact the owner, confirm), "in home care," "home health aides," and "California In-Home Senior Care." Knott's is a residential care home, not an in home care agency. Paste this clean version and fill the bracketed spots:

About Knott's Landing

Knott's Landing is a family owned residential care home in Buena Park,
California, licensed by the California Department of Social Services to
care for up to six seniors. We are not a large facility. We are a real
home, where every resident is known by name and looked after by a small,
consistent team.

[Owner first name] opened Knott's Landing to give local families a
warmer, more personal alternative to big assisted living communities.
[One or two sentences on the owner's background and why they started
the home. Keep it personal and specific.]

Our residents receive 24/7 personal care, home cooked meals, help with
daily activities, and the comfort of a familiar household. Visiting
physicians, dentists, and therapists support residents on site, and we
welcome the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) alongside private pay.

Come see the difference a small home makes. Call (949) 290-1826 or
schedule a tour.

Hands-on fixes (not copy and paste)

These need a few clicks in WordPress or the SEO plugin rather than pasted code.

  1. Family Ties  Add the full street address and a Google Map to the footer and the Contact page. This is the single biggest trust and local ranking gap on the site.
  2. Family Ties  Get the site indexed. Verify the site in Google Search Console, submit https://familytiesliving.com/wp-sitemap.xml, and request indexing on the homepage and main pages. Confirm no page has a "noindex" toggle set in the SEO plugin.
  3. Knott's  Redirect the dead services page. The old /services/ URL returns 404 but is still in Google. Add a 301 redirect from it to the homepage or About page (SEO plugin redirect feature), then resubmit the sitemap.
  4. Knott's  Fix or remove the second tour form that only collects an email. Match it to the main form fields or delete it.
  5. Both  Pick one business name and make it identical across the site, Google Business Profile, and every directory listing.
  6. Both  Claim and optimize each Google Business Profile (categories, photos, ALW in the description, service area, and a steady flow of reviews). For senior care this drives more discovery than the website itself.
Order of operations. The address, the Knott's About cleanup, and conversion tracking are also the Phase 1 gate before ads turn on. Doing this list first means the ad traffic lands on clean, trustworthy, tracked pages.
